SAN DIEGO, CA, June 28, 2012 – PlanetTogether, the leading independent provider of planning and scheduling software, announces a new business relationship with an internationally recognized manufacturer of films and labels. After a rigorous evaluation process, this industry leading manufacturer selected PlanetTogether’s specialized multi-plant Galaxy Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) system to connect, standardize, and improve operations across its two plants in North America.
The complexity of operations across the two plants called for a powerful production scheduling platform. Before making the switch to Galaxy APS, the manufacturer had used a combination of legacy systems and spreadsheets to schedule their materials, tooling, labor, and jobs. Due to the company’s extensive growth plans for fiscal year 2012 and beyond, they needed to upgrade to a system that could reduce work-in-progress inventory and production lead time as well as improve the delivery performance of their increasing volume of intricate orders.
After careful consideration of several APS systems as well as their own enterprise resource planning (ERP) extension, they decided PlanetTogether was the best fit.
